Ed Adkins |
|
Ed Adkins is a self-taught landscape photographer. He lives in Salisbury, NC. He had a
life-long dream of becoming a landscape photographer but it was not until the purchase of his first digitial camera in September, 2003 that his dream came
alive. He enjoys finding scenes of beauty in everyday life, scenes that largely go unnoticed in our busy lives. |

Janie Allen |

Janie Allen specializes in portraits and loves to paint in oils and also enjoys pastels.
She served as President of the Rowan Art Guild when the Waterworks Visual Arts Center first began, and assisted with the birth of the historic mural in
downtown Salisbury. She is chair of the Downtown "Angels of Salisbury" project, and has painted three of the large angels which are displayed over the
holidays in acrylics. |

Jesse Allen works in pencil from life and his favorite object to draw is the human
form.

Yvonne T. Alligood |
|
Yvonne T. Alligood has always enjoyed sketching and painting. She has studied watercolor
since 1992 with award-winning artist and instructor Betty Watson. Her love for watercolor lead her to also work with watercolor collage, which has been her
focus for the last year. |

Andrea V. Brown |
|
Andrea V. Brown began her art studies in junior high and found a pastime she loved. She has
an A.F.A. degree and primarily works in pet portraits. Her favorite medium is watercolor, and she creates portraits and magnets of horses, cats, dogs and
other animals. |

Regina Calton Burchett works in a variety of mediums, including pencil, watercolor and
pastel. She has studied art from an early age, and received a B.S. degree in textiles and a minor in art from Michigan State University. She has studied
drawing, painting, calligraphy, weaving, stone sculpture, computer art and computer animation. |

|
Sybil Trexler Efird is a native North Carolinian. She studied art at Queens College in
Charlotte, and at the Vocational Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin. She has attended workshops under Tom Lynch, Tom Jones, Chen Chee, Janet Walsh, Jan
Kunz and Chuck McLauchlan. |

A native of Salisbury, NC, Garwood has enjoyed drawing and painting since childhood, with
pastels being her medium of choice. She has taken classes over the years from local artists. Barbara finds fascination in faces and enjoys painting
portraits.

Robert (Bob) Gobble is a native of Rowan County, NC. He specializes in Watercolors and Pen
and Ink, drawings and paintings. He studied watercolors under the directions of Elizabeth (Betty) Watson. Bob has some of his work on display at Escape The

Anita enjoys watercolors and mixed media. Animals and flowers are her favorites. Anita has
taken classes from local artists Cathy Sigman and Betty Watson. Also she has taken classes at ASU, NC.

Wendy Grimes has enjoyed art since she was a child, and attended the Governor's School of
North Carolina as an art student. Since that time, motherhood and work have kept her from pursuing a career or even a pastime in art. "I decided 3 years ago
to try watercolor after seeing Betty Watson's class advertised in the paper. I forgot how much I enjoyment I recieved from being creative."

Janet Isenhour has studied under many instructors - John Brady, Connie McNiel, Elizabeth
Watson and Katherine Skipper. She works primarily in watercolor, but also enjoys painting in oils,acrylics, pastel and colored pencil. She has exhibited
works in numerous local and regional shows. |

A native of Greensboro, NC, Carolyn has attended workshops and exhibited in various
cities. Oil, acrylic and pastels are her mediums. Recently retired, she now feels she can devote more time to her favorite - portraits in pastels. A recent
move to Salisbury has resulted in more portrait commissions. |

Patt Legg has painted oils and water colors for over thirty years, and considers herself a
portrait artist first – her goal is to show the essence of who a person really is as seen through the eyes. When painting a landscape or still life, the same
principle applies – to show life in the most common of things. |

Dolores E. Lewis attended New York Univeristy and has exhibited in group shows in
Charlotte, the Arts Center in Lexington, and in New Bern, Washington and Kinston N.C. One of her watercolors was accepted into a national show sponsored by
the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem. She has shown her work throughout North and South Carolina and her art is in private collections from Canada to
California. |

Joe Linn - "When it comes to sports, I have two left feet; yet when it comes to the arts, I
have found a love of painting, especially watercolor. I have worked in the electrical distributing business for over 40 years while moonlighting with a brush
in the wee hours. My wife and our children, now grown, have always respected my passion - so when time is available, I
paint!" |
| Kaneko "Connie" McNeill |

Kaneko "Connie" McNeill was born in Hiroshima, Japan. In 1963, she came to Salisbury with
her husband, a native North Carolinian. Kaneko has had solo shows at the Waterworks Arts Center in Salisbury, the Museum of Arts and Science in Statesville
and the Depot Gallery in Mooresville. She has participated in juried shows throughout North Carolina, and is a charter member of the Watercolor Society of
North Carolina. |

|
Clyde Overcash is a Salisbury artist, working in watercolor and ink of generally local
subjects. In addition, he has worked in acrylic in the impressionism style. Clyde's work may be seen at the Off Main Gallery in downtown Salisbury at 114
East Council, open Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 2 - 4 pm. |
| Maria Teresa Rafferty |

Maria Teresa Rafferty was born in Rome, Italy and began her art career in 1980 while living in
Saudi Arabia. Under the sponsorship of the Dhahran Art Group, she studied watercolor under Peter Charles. She has continued her artistic training through
courses at the Waterworks Visual Arts Center. She works varied subjects in all media, preferring portraits and landscapes. |
| Glenn Reichley |

Glenn Reichley has been painting for twenty years, and has studied acrylics, oils and
watercolors in Statesville, Albemarle and Salisbury, North Carolina. He has participated in the Carolina Artist Art Show in 2003, and is continuing his
watercolor studies with Elizabeth Watson. |

Nancy Rogers graduated from Duke University, and continued her art studies at the Art
Students League in New York as well as graduate studies at Columbia University and New York University. Nancy has studied in Europe,and extensively in the
United States under many master painters.She is a life member of the Arts Student League, a Charter Member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and
many other art societies. |

Evelyn Schaffer began sketching in her hometown of Emmaus, PA. A registered nurse, upon
retirement from Rowan County Health Department, she studied watercolor with Elizabeth Watson and has attended workshops by Pat Aubre Grey, Chuck McLaughlin,
Tom Lynch and Jan Kunz. She has won awards for her paintings at the Silver Arts Shows in Rowan County, as well as Honorable Mentions at juried art shows.

Tatyana Shurtz, a native of Saint Petersburg, Russia, has devoted much of her life to art
in many different facets. From drawing, sketching, photography and watercolors as a young adult, creativity came naturally to her. After many years of
working as a computer graphic artist Tatyana recently decided to pursue more traditional forms of creativity. Since that time oil painting has become a
passion of hers and much of her time is now devoted to it. |

Cathy works from her studio in Faith, North Carolina. She has won numerous awards in local
and regional exhibitions with her colored pencil and mixed media work. and conducts workshops for regional art guilds and private galleries. A Signature
Member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, Cathy has exhibited in CPSA International Exhibitions. Her work is included in "The Best of Colored Pencil
4", published by Rockport Publishers and distributed by North Light Books. |

Doris Trexler is a self taught artist. She has taken classes and workshops provided through
Adult Education. She began with oils, but later switched to watercolors for health reasons. Doris has been experimenting with acrylic painting recently and
is finding it the most rewarding and successful media. She prefers painting landscapes and still life. |

| Tomie Troxler |

Tomie Troxler lives in historic Salisbury, NC. She is a graduate of the University of North
Carolina, Chapel Hill, and holds a Masters degree in Language Arts. She is a member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina, Carolina Artists, and
Davidson County Art Guild. Her paintings are in private and public collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. A prize winner in the Watercolor Society of N.
C., she exhibits frequently in their juried shows throughout the state. |

Colleen T. Walton started painting four years ago. Have taken classes taught by Betty
Watson and Frank Saunders. Also she has done a great deal of independent study. Work in watercolor. Silver Arts winner in 2005 and 2006.

Elizabeth Hemingway Watson has, for more than thirty years, presented works of art in clay, porcelain and watercolor at various
shows throughout North Carolina and Georgia. She began her studies early with Lambert Bremelman and has continued to learn with various internationally
renowned instructors. Elizabeth has won many awards for her art and teaches at summer art camps, senior centers, community colleges and art guilds throughout
the state. |

Informally taught, Libbie paints in watercolors for the joy and love of it. She favors
pastel colors and her work has a delicate and realistic touch. |
