Deborah began studying art at the age of nine when her mother and grandmother took her to classes with them. She used her art skills professionally by doing design and page layout for two newspapers as well as designing ads for individual businesses. Her work has been shown in Arkansas and Tennessee as well as North Carolina.

Deborah is a native North Carolinian. Raised in Salisbury, she now lives in Greensboro. She graduated in 2005 from UNC-G and works part-time for Barnes & Noble. A writer by trade, her first novel, "Winter White", is due to be released in late February and she designed the cover of her own book.
