Bonnie Harmer is a native of Galax, Virginia, relocating to North Carolina in the mid-seventies. She has always had a latent passion to draw and paint. This was finally allowed to develop in mid 2007 with support of a friend and a gift of an all inclusive art kit. She had the opportunity to experiment with drawing, charcoal, watercolor, acrylics and oils. She is mostly self-taught. Her formal training to date has been limited to three oil classes and one six-secession watercolor class. She has experimented with techniques learned from a small collection of excellent reference books.
