| J. Robert "Bob" Gobble is a native of Salisbury, North Carolina. He is a self-taught artist, specializes in Watercolors and Pen and Ink drawings and paintings. He retired from Duke Energy Safety Department, (Buck Steam Station) in 1994.
He has studied watercolors under the direction of award-winning artist Elizabeth (Betty) Watson and Artist Marietta Smith. He has exhibited works in numerous local and regional shows across North Carolina and on display at Beana's Restaurant, Oak Island, NC and Bald Head Island, NC Gift Shop, Carolina Artist Group (he is a member of) website www.carolinaartists.org, and at his studio, Creative Arts, 210 Dukeville Road, Salisbury NC, phone 704-636-8204. Bob, most recent watercolor painting was the "Starnes Sisters Farm House" (is on the National Historical Registry) won third place in the Carolina Artists Expo in Salisbury, NC in August of 2006. Bob loves his family; wife Margaret, two children; daughter Melissa Grady and grandson Quinton and son Jonathan Gobble, wife Adele, grandchildren (twins) Zachary and Jessie. He and his wife enjoy traveling the roads of North Carolina, visiting areas of the mountains and to the Carolina coast. Making frequent trips to Oak Island, NC where they visit with long time friends and go fishing. |
