Sybil Trexler Efird is a native North Carolinian. She has lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Ohio, and now resides in Salisbury. She studied art at Queens College in Charlotte, and at the Vocational Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin. While living in Akron, Ohio, she was on the Women's Board of Akron General Hospital and painted many objects for their yearly bazaar. She has attended workshops under Tom Lynch, Tom Jones, Chen Chee, Janet Walsh, Jan Kunz and Chuck McLauchlan.
